My Pot 'O Gold

Top of the mornin' to ya my crafty friends! The ides of March are almost upon us as is St. Patty's day. This is a big holiday here in the Hudson Valley as there is a high population of Irish here. Our main street in town has a thick green stripe down the middle and this weekend was the big parade and Shamrock Run. Big doings in this little town! I have never made a card for the occasion but thought I might give it a try and enter some challenges. I love shaped cards so using my Gypsy I made a Shamrock shaped card with a rainbow and what else but a Pot 'O Gold! The rainbow, cloud and pot of gold is mounted on a Action Wobble to bring it to life! LOVE those Action Wobbles!!

Also please keep Emma (My Creative Time) & her family in your thoughts in prayers. Her husband has been ill and currently is without a diagnosis. And please let's not forget those in Japan. I was in a 6.8 earthquake-the Sylmar Quake in Los Angeles, 2/1971. To this day if something shakes my house I panic. That was minuscule in comparison to the 8.8 quake in Japan. I can't even imagine the horror those poor people are living....I can't even imagine.

B-day card with my PK Princess Faces

I finally got my Peachy Keen Princess Faces in the mail last week! Not that they were slow coming...I just couldn't order them before this. Sooo excited as I just love those precious little faces.So just by luck it happened I had a precious little girl to make a birthday card for so without wasting a second I jumped right in and made this:

I think she really turned out cute & was a real hit at the Birthday party. Guess this means I will have to use the Paper Doll Cart on a regular basis, so darned cute. Those PK faces make such a difference. Also had to order more of those Action Wobbles as my free stash is running short. I am truly addicted to them.
Guess I had better put the computer away and force myself to stay out of the craft room for a few hours while I clean house. We have yet another snow storm today so it is a perfect day for cleaning and crafting and if I hurry I can get a few hours to make another card! Gee I might even clean up my messy room and make a update video on my craft room!

A Birthday Card with Hello Kitty

Good evening peeps! I've been pretty lax this past week in posting so I thought I had better make some type of appearance soon before you all forget me! Welcome new followers! I can't believe I am up to 40 already! Just love it! Thank you also for the great comments, I really do read them and appreciate them. Today I finally managed to clear my home of the last of the Christmas decorations.The house looks & feels so bare now. With that week long chore complete I can get back into the swing of things. Thank goodness for birthdays or I would be without something to show you!

You all know I love round cards so I just had to make one for Arielle. She loves Hello Kitty so the theme was a no-brainer.
I cut the scalloped card from Wild Card Cart using the" fit to page" feature on my Cricut Expression. The top (purple) layer was a freehand shape rescued from an error I made...oops! The border was punched using a Martha Stewart Hearts Border punch. Kitty's soft fur was made by running the pieces through my Xyron and then covering the adhesive using Cotton Ball White Fun Flock. I was unable to find Hello Kitty with a cupcake so I had to add that on, but it was taken from the Hello Kitty Cart. The cupcake holder was scored to give it is pleated appearance, The frosting was made using my favorite Goldens Medium and the cherry was made using Stickles. If I were to remake this card I would definitely use narrower ribbon for her bow or perhaps just use the paper version. It is difficult to see in the picture but a white heart button is sewn in the middle.The bling was adhered using my Irock for the very first time! The paper was from DCWV, the flowers were Prima. "Hey Cupcake" was stamped from Scrappy Moms "Sweet Somethings" set. I love those stamps! As a matter of fact I love them so much that I ordered a duplicate set so guess what part of my blog candy will be for Debbies Birthday Blog Hop on January 24th-28th? I think you may have the answer or part of it anyhow! Guess you will just have to stop by & see!

Holiday card making with the Cricut & Black Friday Sales Updates

Good morning all! Can you even believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner? You know what that means....Black Friday sales. I am really watching this year because I am really trying to put a little hint in Santa's ear regarding the Gypsy and how very badly I need one! I will keep everyone posted on any great sales I find and I hope you will do the same! I completed a project this week that I've wanted to try for over a year. I absolutely love the way it turned out.  Tell me what you think. The window,wreath and Christmas Tree was cut from the Cricut Christmas Solutions Cart.The window is covered with a acetate sheet and adhered to the back with foam tape making it 3- dimensional. I used Stickles on the inside of the window as I discovered it really doesn't adhere well to the acetate. I added extra on the outside windowsill. The sign was also from the Christmas Solutions Cart however it was customized by welding two together using Design Studio (Santa, I REALLY do need a Gypsy). I used flocking "snow" and also used the Stickles for the icicles however you really can't see them in the picture. I enjoyed making this one and think I may experiment a little with it!
Now for the sales. I got an e-mail from Cricutmachine.com yesterday that claims to have the sales of all Black Friday sales. More information is to follow Wednesday so I will keep you posted. I have done quite a bit of business with this company and have received great deals and super customer service.
