Mothers Day Cards...for my perfect moms!

Hi  my crafty buddies! I hope your Mothers Day was picture perfect! Mine was a bit out of sorts due to the wedding...but it was well worth it. I spent the day on the 1-90 and the 87 but not before taking my mommy out to breakfast! I wasn't able to post her Mothers Day card before hand because she is really computer savvy for 84 years old and may I add.........nosy. (Said with love Mom!) So here it is. My goal was to have all of the embellishments handmade...and I met my goal with the exception of the lace, which is antique lace
purchase in an Antique Store in Sturbridge, Mass.
The photograph was downloaded from Magic Moonlight Studios and distressed using Tim Holtz vintage photo ink. The card face was embossed using my Cuddlebug and KassieÕs Brocade Embossing Folder. The stick pin was handcrafted by yours truly. The ribbon is hand died seam binding. The Butterfly is a MS punch heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The computer generated sentiment is on a Spellbinders die cut (Label 10) enhanced with the ends of a heat embossed Lacey Labels cut that I had in my stash. The inside of a special card has to be pretty too! I embossed and inked a layer and then set the computer generated sentiment printed on vellum.adhered to another Spellbinders die cut (Labels 8).
What's a beautiful card without a pretty box to present it in? I absolutely love to make pretty boxes for my special cards. Wait till you see my Wedding card box!
The belly band is trimmed with a MS edge punch and decorated with my handmade rayon flowers. The Butterfly is MS punch. The papers are DCWV.
The card posted on Mothers Day was for my dear MIL....and she really is a dear! (She isn't computer literate so I was safe to post it!)
My next post will be Wedding...if my dear daughter will be kind enough to give me pictures!
Big crafty hugs to you!!
