Home Again & What a Trip!

Good morning my Crafty Blog Buddies!
I am back home again in the rainy Catskills. Trust me, I am not complaining. Rain is a very good indication that Spring is close by. Speaking of Spring do not forget to set your clocks ahead 1 hour this weekend! Yahooo......winter is soon behind us!
I had a wonderful time with my sweet grandson, Brandon-enjoyed every minute of being with him. I love 353 miles away so I have to take advantage of any time I can get with the grand-kids as I don't see them as often as I would like to. Katie, my beautiful granddaughter is attending Tiffin University studying Homeland Security & Forensic Psychology. Our visits are usually via Web-Cam. I have three other beautiful grand-babies in Jacksonville, Fla as well.
I am going to share with you a birthday card I made for my mom who will be celebrating her 83rd birthday the 15th of this month. She is in Niagara Falls too, so we attempted to celebrate her big day while I was there. I say attempted because it didn't quite turn out the way we had planned. She loves the breakfast buffet at the Casino in Niagara Falls so we planned to take her there and then have her open my gifts when we returned home. We made it to the Casino and as we were descending from the top to the bottom of the building (2 stories high) via escalator my mom took a tumble, approx. 60ft. high. I now know the true meaning of terror. God was most definitely with her. She walked away with a very badly bruised and sore body and a fractured arm. Needless to say we did not have breakfast, or lunch for that matter but she did get an ambulance ride!
Card for Challenges
Once safely home I gave her this card and her presents but I had to open everything as her soft cast was in the way.
This was very different than my normal card style, but mom adores Vintage and antiques so I had to give it my best try. The card was too bulky for an envelope so I tried my hand at making a box for it. I can't say I was excited with the outcome but I was running out of time so I had to make do with the embellishments I had made.

Recipe for card:
Cream cardstock for base
K& Company paper
Bird & Cage-Serenade Cart.
Modge Podge
Vintage Photo-Magic Moonlight
Flowers by Recollections
Page taken from an old dictionary
Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Frayed Burlap
Glossy Accents
Card Box:
K& Company Paper
ScorPal
MS Adhesive Pearls
So Mom, there are 4 days until your "real"
